Why I do what I do

I really enjoy writing up these pieces and I hope you enjoy reading them. At this point in time I believe this is the best way for me to use my time and energy to benefit others.

Between working on various online and offline courses and doing a lot of reading, I more or less work on this full-time.

Holding a stable job means not only would I have much less time, I also would have to keep a fair bit of my mind busy thinking about projects that I'm simply not interested in. It felt like I had one eye on what I believe I should be doing and another on simply maintaining my existence – it doesn't seem very efficient.

Quitting my job and focussing on reading and writing full-time was inspired by this speech by the philosopher Alan Watts.

"It’s absolutely stupid to spend your time doing things you don’t like, in order to go on spending time doing things you don’t like"

A world in which we can all be happy is what we should strive for and in such a world we cannot be chained to our fears and insecurities. I wish to communicate to people that they are freer than they realise and this website is one of the main ways I wish to do this.

Once again, thank you.
