The Nature of Mind: The Dzogchen Instructions of Aro Yeshe Jungne

Sashin's notes

Once upon a time, a young nun came across a small baby abandoned all alone in the woods. Moved by her compassion she wanted to help him, but realised that if she did people would gossip and her reputation as a nun would be tarnished.

So she approached a wealthier family and asked them for help. They took the baby in and tried to search for his parents. No one stepped forward to claim the baby as their own. Having no other option, they decided to raise the baby itself.

This baby was a strange one. He was always pleasant and happy, never crying. He laid upon his back and made noises, saying "Ah, Ah, Ah".
The family decided to name him "Aro". "Ah" for his favourite sound, and "Ro" meaning corpse which was his favourite resting position.

This baby grew up to be one of the great meditation practitioners in history. Shortly after receiving the profound Dzogchen[1] instructions, he was able to reach Enlightenment through practice.

This book is a compilation of his meditation advice compiled by the more contemporary legendary Yogi Patrul Rinpoche. It is a guide to understanding your own mind, I highly recommend you read it.
